Nigeria is Africa’s most populous nation and largest economy, a country of almost unimaginable promise. But like many emerging nations it faces the development challenges that come with industrialization and growth. Our extensive in-country team works with public and private sector clients to realize Nigeria’s extraordinary potential.

The Market Development in the Niger Delta I and Market Development in the Niger Delta II projects have catalysed market systems and spurred the creation of jobs and enterprises in the Delta. Our Policy Development Facility I and Policy Development Facility II projects have deployed on-demand, rapid-response capabilities in support of the champions of change who are driving economic growth in Nigeria.
DAI has global experience improving the management of natural resources and protecting important ecosystems while supporting economic growth. Our approach strengthens resilience to climate change, for example, while providing the foundation for sustainable development. DAI in Nigeria has expertise and experience supporting environmentally responsible policies and strategies through a good governance lens, notably through the State Partnership for Accountability Responsiveness and Capability and the Accountable, Responsive, and Capable Government Programme.
DAI provides innovative assistance to support political transition, ensure short-term stability, prevent and counter violent extremism, and lay the foundation for long-term development in fragile environments. DAI in Nigeria has provided an array of support for such environments in Adamawa, Borno, Yobe, and Zamfara States through the State Partnership for Accountability Responsiveness and Capability, the Accountable, Responsive, and Capable Government Programme, and the Women for Health programmes. The Market Development in the Niger Delta I and Market Development in the Niger Delta II projects have both worked to foster economic stability in the volatile Delta region.
