DAI was contracted by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to help Investbanka substantially increase its small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) lending activities.

  • Develop adequate risk assessment and monitoring procedures.
  • Streamline and simplify loan applications and approval processes.
  • Provide strategic advice to banks on credit functions.
  • Monitor loan portfolio performance and report to client.
  • Design and implement a new IT system.
  • Provide training to bank staff on credit analysis.
  • Design and implement a marketing plan.

Select Results

  • Designed an appropriate SME lending methodology and programme to roll out at the head office in Skopje and at least five branches outside Skopje.
  • Assisted with staff training on SME credit assessment and portfolio monitoring, as well as with the development of appropriate software solutions.
  • Established a credit risk management team to monitor the credit portfolio (especially exposure by client) and reviewed the financial analyses performed by loan officers.
