DAI leads AL-INVEST Next’s Programme Management Unit (PMU), supporting knowledge management and coordination; providing technical advice and expertise to guide decision making; ensuring synergies with regional Team Europe Initiatives; preparing annual reports and maintaining a database of activities and results; and coordinating meetings, seminars, and travel for stakeholders.

As part of its work to improve EU market access and trade links with the LAC region, DAI will:

  • Generate, collect, and disseminate key information on trade and investment—in-depth annual trade reports, sectoral studies, and investment flow tracking.
  • Monitor economic framework conditions—bi-weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports on regulatory and market developments in LAC relevant to EU businesses and investors.
  • Provide technical support—workshops, training, and targeted assistance to LAC partners for developing standards for goods, services, and investment aligned with EU or international norms.
  • Host business-to-business events—EU investment forums, studies in selected sectors on EU market opportunities for LAC partners, and events or missions to promote EU-LAC business linkages.
  • Coordinate market access activities—with a focus on women-led businesses and activities aligned with AL-INVEST Next pillars 2 (micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises and the public sector) and 3 (responsible business).
