DAI will join more than 600 development professionals on May 20 at the Society for International Development (SID)-Washington 2014 Annual Conference. The event will feature a keynote address by U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Rajiv Shah.
Kristi Ragan, Chief of Party of the USAID Grand Challenges for Development, will lead the plenary on Collaborating to Scale Innovations in Science & Technology: Development, Donors and the Private Sector _at 9:15 am._ Participants on the panel include Cathy Clark, Director of CASE i3 and SEAD at Duke University, April DuBois, Vice President of International Development at MasterCard Corporation, and John R. Wille, Lead Private Sector Development Specialist of the Investment Climate Department at the World Bank Group.
Seema Patel, Innovation Advisor to USAID’s Office of Science and Technology and SID-Washington’s Private Sector Development Workgroup Co-chair, will be at the DAI booth at 11 a.m. to answer questions about USAID’s Global Development Lab and DAI’s increasing investment in development innovation. Robert Salerno, a DAI development specialist, will be the booth’s afternoon guest, at 3:15 p.m., speaking about using data for decision-making, the nexus of environment and health, and how he got started in development work.
The booth will be outside the exhibit hall on the concourse.
