Executive Vice President, Development Partners Group
Zan Northrip oversees DAI business units serving government clients in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe, plus private sector clients served by our Sustainable Business Group.
Zan joined DAI in 1995 after working with the United Nations Development Programme and the Multinational Donor business of Ernst & Young, where he specialized in privatization and managed his first U.S. Government-funded team in the field. He initially worked in DAI’s financial services practice, where he taught financial analysis to emerging market bankers and led assignments in DAI’s bank management portfolio, through which DAI restored large state-owned banks to profitability by rapidly expanding their products and services for the low-income market segment. He later served as Chief of Party for the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Accelerated Microenterprise Advancement Project Knowledge and Practice project, which tested, documented, and rolled out new tools and approaches for value chain and market development programs.
Beginning in 2007, Zan assumed leadership of DAI’s centralized new business function, overseeing a three-year period of rapid growth before taking on management of DAI’s Economic Growth portfolio, the company’s largest, in 2010. From 2014 to 2019, he served as DAI’s Senior Vice President, U.S. Government Business Unit, responsible for DAI’s portfolio of work for its largest client. Zan completed the INSEAD Leadership Excellence through Awareness and Practice course in 2022. • M.A., international economics, Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies
