Dr. Lisa Stone is an accomplished medical and public health consultant with experience in public health policy, planning, and programs for nonprofit and governmental health agencies. She has worked at the local, state, national and international level in bioterrorism and pandemic and other epidemic preparedness and response.

As the medical director and statewide hospital preparedness director for public health preparedness in Massachusetts, she led a six-state surge multisector planning committee, developed award-winning plans for alternate care sites and health care triage planning, and conducted numerous mass casualty and pandemic scenario exercises.

Her international work has focused on emergency preparedness and response, epidemic outbreak response, and the One Health approach to preparedness and response in resource-poor environments. She has developed curricula and toolkits, and conducted numerous workshops to promote One Health country preparedness and response for outbreaks, including avian influenza, ebola, and outbreaks of unknown etiology. Her work has supported the development of multisectoral, operational, national, and sub-national preparedness and response plans in developing countries.
