Dean Smith has more than 20 years of experience designing and managing donor-funded projects in agriculture, value chain development, and enterprise competitiveness. After serving as a small business development volunteer for Peace Corps in Bulgaria, Dean joined DAI in 1999 as a proposal coordinator—his first job in international development. He currently manages business development efforts across the Economic Growth portfolio. Dean has managed projects in Afghanistan, East Timor, Egypt, Kosovo, and Lebanon, and has lead proposal efforts throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
