DAI Delegation To Address ICAF on Stability and Reconstruction Operations
Author: DAI
Date: February 14, 2008

On February 25, a senior DAI delegation will address students at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF) on the role DAI plays in stability and reconstruction operations in conflict and post-conflict environments.

The presentation—by Bruce Spake and Mike Godfrey—is designed to improve students’ understanding of the role international development firms play in economic development, reconstruction, and vital infrastructure work.

It will draw on the presenters’ firsthand experience in Iraq and Liberia, among other countries, and highlight the lessons DAI has learned building capacity in post-conflict communities and working hand-in-hand with Provincial Reconstruction Teams.

Based at Fort McNair in Washington, D.C., and operating under the direction of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, ICAF prepares senior military officers and selected civilians for leadership positions through postgraduate studies focused on U.S. national security strategy. DAI’s presentation is part of a seminar series that helps students analyze the economic and public policy impact of the reconstruction and vital infrastructure industry within the context of such security strategy.
